Just got back from a road trip to Yellowstone with the GX. It's a 2017. So when pulling a hill, it doesn't have enough torque to pull much of a hill on the highway, so it down shifts. Ok so out of 6th and out of torque converter lock up and down another gear. Now its running about 3000 rpm. that's ok, but when you let up on it and it should upshift, it doesn't. It stays in the low gear. Even if you take your foot all the way off the pedal, and let it coast, it won't upshift,,,,,for an extended period of time. Stays in the low gear. As in take your foot all the way off the gas, then apply gas again, and it still in the low gear, and back to 3000 rpm even though the hill is gone and its level ground, then after an extended period, it finally shifts into an appropriate gear. Seems to be much better if the cruise control is engaged. Car has about 8K on the clock since new.
Is this pretty normal, its irritating. Never had an auto trans that would not upshift when letting off the gas.
