First off, that pan is a PITA getting off. Everything is so tight in there. The sway bar removal also sucked. I measured and got 9 qts out when the pan and filter came down. Seems like more than I was expecting. I thought 3 qts.
Issues I had:
1. Couldn't quite get the dipstick tube perfectly seated deep enough back to the top half. I was being careful not to touch the RTV to any transmission parts above while lifting it up. I'm not seeing any leaking, but just wondering if that's an issue. It's on there maybe half way. And I've already tried tapping with a mallet, pushing and pulling, etc.
2. I picked up some crush washers from the dealer with the RTV. I got a few as it's supposedly the same as the rear diff drain plug...only it's not! My 12mm bolt came off and it had a tiny crush washer. The crush washer he gave me was bigger than my entire drain plug. In a pinch, I just used black RTV sealant before putting it back on. I didn't torque it to 20 ft-lb, just hand tight. I hope that's OK until I get that smaller washer. I need to take it to the store to see what size it is. Anyone else run into this problem?
