Been having some transmission problems and was hoping someone could tell me if I'm screwed.
Friday, my A/T oil temp light came on. I pulled over and checked the dip stick and the fluid was clearly burnt. I hobbled back home and got my fluid drained and filled alongside half a bottle of Lucas.
Today I was making the 300km trek back to work and the light came on again as well as the trans was slipping. I poured another half bottle of Lucas in and waited. The light never came back on but the trans kept slipping to the point of complete loss of power to the drivetrain. Had to tow it the last 100km to work.
To be noted the gasket on the pan has deteriorated severely.
Will a complete pan drop, new gasket, clean filter and new fluid fix it or did I ruin the transmission and will need a new one?
