Just noticed a transmission sound which sounds like a thump going from drive to OD that you can feel.. a thump or jerk or - i checked the transmission fluid on a cold start which showed some milky red color and seemed to be over the high mark.. My wife had the 4runner oil changed which they said they checked the fluids which on print out said ok, but now that i checked it it dosent look ok - looks like it was overfilled - never had an issue with it before. Im trying to diagnose the problem, does it need to be drained and refilled with new tranny fluid.. ? or should i bring to tranny specialist.. before it gets too bad.. ? The truck has like 175k on it.. and purchased used at @ 100k. If anyone knows what i should do and the best way to ( and economical ) way to fix this or go about fixing or diagnosing this - please let me know.. asap.. we love the vechile but this trunk needs brakes, two bumpers, rotted, runs strong tho and we love it..
