When i put my 01 4runner in driver it hardly moves. when i put it in neutral it moves forward!!!! what is going on?!?! pls somebody help!!!

If the transmission is engaged with the selector in neutral, the linkage could be mis-adjusted or bent. What led up to this problem?

Try all gears. I'm sorry but it doesn't sound like linkage since N is a forward shift from D and acting as drive, that would mean D is now 2. Need to know what caused this. Check fluid level, or just go ahead and change the fluid and filter because the next option is in the valve body.

I do hope it's just linkage though.

You're probably right, something internal is going on.

So again some history-
How many miles on this tranny?
How often has the fluid been changed?
What is the current fluid level?
Is the fluid clear red or burnt?
Are the motor mounts intact?
