I had one if these on my celica back in the day and it gets hot AF just fyi. You will need a towel handy if you need to remove it after the engine is fully warmed.

Just a question...is this an improvement over oem for performance, or is this purely cosmetic? Just curious, as I don’t recall a rash of failed oil caps in the forums the past 20 years.

It's for looks but OEM oil cap quality is so poor that I decided to upgrade. It's not expensive and worth the money IMO. =)

Got my 2017 used and it had one of these on there. Went back to stock cap, for some reason mine ended up damaging the threads on the filler neck and made it not spin on and off freely. Looking at my filler neck it looks like the heat from the TRD cap (which i agree they do get HOT) caused the plastic filler neck threads to strip. Maybe mine was already stripped when i got the car, but either way, i replaced the filler neck and went back to a stock plastic cap. No more issues.

Have one of these from my 3rd gen. I also went back to stock. They do get very hot and I ended up getting annoyed.

I'll stick with the OE on my 5th gen.

I have the same one, migrated it over from my old truck, but do you have the gold one in my signature!?
