i have a set of near brand new TRD headers ive had for a while now sitting on a shelf. debating if i should install them on my TRD supercharged 2000 toyota runner. i have read alot about they are PITA to install. is it worth it or should i just sell them?
if i make a decision on selling them, im thinking of selling for $475.00 plus shipping. like i said, they are mint and are ceramic coated. no rust at all.

Are they a pain to install? Yes.

If you're supercharged and want to get the most out of your engine, will they help? Probably.

If you have a 1" body lift (as I believe you do) then I say go ahead and install them. If you didn't have a 1" body lift I wouldn't even attempt it. Lotsa bloody knuckles resulted.

And the friggin' header bolts... some may stay in the block, some may not. Either way, they're a pain to get proper purchase on (enough that you can actually apply reasonable torque).

Oh - and I think my alternator, upper control arms, coil overs and even lower control arms were off when I completed the install - my suggestion is to remove everything you can? Ha! Ugh. The more I think about it the more I enjoyed not having to fight around other components while fiddling with all of the header bolts and exhaust 'clamps'

Sell them to me! I need some less exhaust restriction lol

Yes, install them. I have a set too, sitting on a shelf just like you, and would like to know if they are worth installing. My 3.4 is naturally aspirated though. Good luck, wish I was close enough to help you.

I hear if you are n/a, its not worth the headache for the gain which is very minimal. But just go find a s/c and be done!!!

headers.....

well guess ill take some of you guys advice. i think ill just install the headers. i just ordered the oem toyota exhaust manifold gaskets. i have a 1" BL so that will make it easier. i did look at it closely and i think it will go together ok. ill take many pics of the process...

Umm, is this even a real question. Install them now!!!!!! Its not really hard to pull entire motor on these vehicles. Get them on there!

It's worth it with the SC & high flow exhaust. That's my goal. Now if I can only find a 4CYL supercharger.

Does anyone know of an actual write up on here for any type of headers?..

TRD or regular OEM gasket for the headers?

Do body lifts help with ease of installation?
Scramble did you install your own headers?

Totally worth the install.

i have the TRD super charger, 7th injector, headers and exhaust.

probably the best set up for California. Make sure you write down the E/O or carb numbers and keep the sticker and picture of the carb stickers on the hood.

Passing smog is a breeze if you.

also it goes have a nice growl to it on throttle and very little to no drone.

I did not. My neighbor has a shop in town & he rebuilt my 3RZ. I brought it back to him because it sounded like I had a small exhaust leak. He discovered a crack in my exhaust manifold so I had LCE ship the DT headers directly to him. It was worth it to have him do it for $90 (1hr) than me waste an entire Sat afternoon with busted knuckles.
