TRD Intake only for off road???

No, it won't hurt your engine. It just doesn't meet California Air Resource board's (CARB) emissions standards.

would you say it is better than k&n, true flow, or afe
I can't answer that without seeing dyno sheets for all of them. I have used a K&N before on a v6 tacoma and I liked it.

AFE is TRD is AFE

Nice looking part but expensive for the minimal power gains you see.

Fancy intakes are a bit of a scam on mostly stock vehicles;more of a part to show off when the hood is open but if it makes you happy the price can be worth it..

True dat, manufacturers make good intakes for the most part. The resonators can hurt a tiny bit, but still, that kind of money for POSSIBLY a few horsepower seems hard to spend.

I would go with the TRD or AFE intake (as you may or may not know, TRD doesn't really make a lot of parts, they source parts and assemble them into something for Toyotas, and get the original manufacturers to add a nice TRD logo). TRD parts are all warranted by Toyota, and that means a lot in my book.

I totally agree with Ron , but I will add SAVE YOUR MONEY !! It really does nothing to very little . If you want a better filter maybe buy a TRD filter and drop it in . I speak from real life DYNO experience , not a seat of the pants feel or how it sounds ect...

Their claims are no where even close to true !!

What motor do you have ? The V6 and V8 both go very well. What are you wanting to do ?

Yes you can get better sound ect from exhaust and a CAI. If that's what your looking for then fine , I just wanted to say when they say on the box about a 25+ HP gain ....... it does not happen on a naturally aspirated vehicle.

The sound is badass though...

Sorry, this might not apply to the 4th gens since it's not as simple of a setup as on the 3rd gens. It's a simple hole with a deckplate ring around it so you can close it up for water crossings or whatever reason. It's been dyno proven to give 6-8whp for what really is free. The whole mod cost me about $13 including sensor safe gasket maker/sealer.
