TRD intake surging

I've got a '10 limited 4WD and installed the TRD intake last spring. It definitely runs stronger at WOT with the intake, but immediately noticed a slight surging taking off from a dead stop at high rpm's. So, it runs pretty good from a stop, then going WOT but noticed a slight surging. It's not as pronounced in cooler temps which makes me think it's fuel related. Possibly injectors not flowing enough to keep up or fuel pressure starved. Maybe even air flow meter not reading flow properly with the TRD intake. Throttle body diameter restriction..?
Not really sure. It's not really that noticeable but I think if it could be smoothed out and not feel like there was some restriction going on acceleration would be much better.. Anyone have any thoughts..?

I'm not sure I understand your exact description of the problem..

Is it a drop in power around 2500 and 4500 only when smashing it from a stop?

If so.. I think it is torque management kicking in and shutting the throttle some. Mine does this for sure, but it's got a pilot program supercharger on it and that changes everything... I'm Working with magnuson to get it resolved.. but the ECU clearly shuts the throttle and limits power in that situation. I've observed a similar thing when it was stock, but I never had data logs to prove it then.

Other things could be...
- Dirty MAF (clean it)
- Knock or Knock learn (run higher octane fuel)

If you want to learn more get TIS installed and I can tell you what to record for analysis. A generic scanner will also work, but it needs to be high speed.
