You will not be able to buy any surplus as Toyota only allocates the wheels for TRD Pro owners through VIN verification, but only for theft or damage.

Like I said, these wheels will be widely available again in June or July of this year when the production schedule is able to replenish the supply here domestically.

Depending on your timetable for the rear bumper, these are scheduled to come off of backorder sometime around June or July this summer. 1 wouldn't be a hard order to fill and some dealership could square you away in short order.

And it sounds like you will only be able to get more of them with the vin number which I don't have so I figure I need a safe alternative and why not a whiter wheel haha. I'll probably end up swapping these out in a week or two.

Understandable, as the mass distribution of these wheels (and other TRD parts) directly contradict the incentive for consumers to desire a bonafide TRD Pro. With that being said, everything you have said is true to some degree. Keep in mind that at the height of these wheels being sold, many were not sold directly over the counter but as packages through 3rd party accounts on sites such as eBay or toyota OEM parts websites that shared the same physical address but not the same name of the dealership that they were based out of (TRD Shop).

I suspect that when the supply is replenished these wheels will be available again, maybe not to the same effect of finding them under every rock, but they were certainly too lucrative of a product for some to stop selling altogether.

I guess guys like me are part of the problem. I purchased these from a dealer last fall for my '05. But.....as my '05 will be used primarily during the winter months, it makes no sense to ruin these wheels running them during the winter. Shoulda just purchased some steel rims.

Hey Everyone!

So I've only had my Black TRD Pro Wheels for a couple of months and now that I won't be able to get a 5th for my bumper I'm looking at other options. I'll most likely get a new set I'm going to look for another week or two. I'm just trying to see what the interest is with people that are looking for these.

I am located in HB and just purchased a 17 TRD Off-Road Premium Superwhite and am looking to clone the TRD Pro differences. I wanted a sunroof so I opted to get the TRD Premium with plans to get the TRD black wheels, bumper, and grille.

Also, can I use my current stock tires with the TRD Pro Rims?

Yes you can use your stock tires. If you never plan on taking it off road keep em. Just order some FN fx pro rims.

I got these before they stopped selling them and I got them at the Toyota in Anaheim CA, Miller Toyota I think it was called. But I listed them on Ebay because I saw people paying insane amounts of money for them and I sold them for 1500. I'm going to end up getting the FN Overlanders. FN wheels make the FX Pro and they are very similar and a little wider which is better. The stock tires fit on those as well.

Both the black and grey are starting to pop back up on eBay from dealerships eBay accounts. Still steep vs what they were selling for months ago, but nevertheless they are available again.

I purchased a set from a Toyota dealership on Saturday but with no indication on when I can expect delivery. I also paid MSRP at $215ish per rim. What kind of pricing are you seeing for the eBay listings?

Can you link to some of those listings for OEM TRD Pro rims for a 17 4Runner please?

I'm trying to look but I'm not sure what is genuine versus a replica!

TRD Pro is an appearance package. Why would toyota not support other appearance changes if they can make a few $ in the process? The TRD wheels were around long before the TRD Pro model. Making a 4runner look like a trd pro is making it a TRD Pro. Toyota just saves the dealership the effort of taking delivery of a trail model and bolting on the parts from the TRD wall of accessories.

The lack of sunroof and the crazy markup in Central Texas are the reasons we just went with a Trail Edition.

Can you link to the eBay listing?

I found a few eBay sellers located in SoCal for around $800 that state OEM wheels so I am thinking of buy from eBay and cancelling my order with a local Toyota dealership.

The dealer called me this morning and stated they are backordered and will be another two days before they get them.

Don't know if that's true or they are just saying that cause that they don't actually know when they'll get them in stock.

Hmmm... if it was more of a difference I would agree with you. But same engine and underpinnings. Except for the special color there is nothing all that special that cannot be added. Whereas a wrx and sti while they may look similar they are vastly different underneath. That is something that used to bug me as an STI driver. But hey if it makes you feel better I got the TRD bits not because I wanted a TRD pro but because it like the throwback to the old Land Cruisers.

Great opinion, but you're not driving a unicorn. It's just a 4Runner with TRD added equipment. Now if you had a Ferrari and someone drove by you in a kit car Fiero that looked to be a Ferrari, I would totally agree with you.
