TRD Pro Sunroof pics

Hi Everybody,

One of the things that nearly kept me from buying a '16 TRD Pro was the lack of a sunroof. I'm a big fan of having the roof open and the rear window rolled down, just makes for a great environment. Before I even drove it home, I had the guys at Lombard Toyota (IL) install one, and I must say that it looks and operates really, really well. Ran me about $1200 and is worth every penny in my opinion. Might be the only '16 TRD with a sunroof out there. Anyone else put one in?

Thanks, Bart. Yes, Scumburg isn't too far away at all. Don't suppose you know of anywhere nearby to get these trucks dirty, do you? Aside from The Cliffs and a few spots way down south by Carbondale, I got nothin...
 
I thought about it, but the longevity is just not there vs OEM. What I've been told, they all end up leaking eventually.
 
6 vehicles over the last 20 years, all with sunroofs, and the only issue I've ever had was way back in '97 when I got a Jeep GC Ltd V8. Roof shorted out mid-closure and the bastard wouldn't budge. Luckily it was under warranty at the time. I just chalk it up to the Jeep being the biggest pile of crap ever made by any industry across the world. Seriously, everything broke on that POS. I don't think that modern Toyota or aftermarket roofs have the same problems. But I may be wrong, so if it starts leaking before the warranty is over, I'll buy you a beer.
 
When I originally ordered my pro I was bummed it not having the sunroof but honesty I can say I'm ok without it . Would I take a factory unit ...sure , but I can't do the aftermarket ones. I am too picky and my OCD would kick in with the look of non oem.

Badlands in Indiana isn't too far. Me and a couple other guys are planning a trip. I can keep you posted if you want

And im glad to see im not the only one that calls it Scumburg

Yeah man, I'd appreciate a heads up. I have a few pals with some nice rigs that may want to hop on board too.

The KDSS Trail Premium is better in all aspects and easily upgraded to any of the appearance aspects of the TRDPro.

Not just the appearance aspects, but it's easily converted to the performance aspects as well, which is simply the suspension setup.

Pro VS TP is always going to be the great debate. I went with the Trail Premium with KDSS because it came with a sunroof and the price. Plan on upgrading the suspension with all the money I saved not going with the TRD Pro. I did make them toss on the TRD wheels though I couldn't help myself.

I'm out in Aurora so if you guys are thinking about planning something out keep me in the loop. Sounds like we're going to have to do a Chicagoland meetup soon.

Aside from Private properties, you have The Cliffs, which is a lot of fun, but also a real sum***** due to how beat up you and your vehicle can get....But Sir Barton could probably wheel the whole thing without even getting dirty, because KDSS.
