TRD Pro Suspension installed with KDSS

Thought I'd share my experience with the TRD Pro suspension in combination with KDSS.

I don't have much info to share on the install, as I had Toyota do it so as to keep my warranty in tact with the suspension as well.

Ride quality is excellent. I wouldn't call it firmer feeling, but it is firmer in regards to nose dive from want I can tell, as well as handling to a slight degree.

Soaks up larger bumps better and at quicker speeds.

KDSS still effectively cancels out the smaller bumps as it did before.

Not currently experiencing the KDSS lean that I've read about.

Ride height up front has an easily noticeable increase, but I did not measure so I'm not sure exactly how much.

Overall, quite pleased with this setup, and very happy to have picked these up for an excellent price from a forum member. Thank you, sir!

Don't take it on washboards or drive fast on dirt roads; people on here say the TRD Pro would actually explode if it had KDSS on it.

I did the same upgrade and love it. Just came back from a 2k mile overland trip through Canada, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. We did 600 miles on all kinds of dirt roads and it was fantastic. The only thing I did was move the passenger side shock spring perch up since I did have the kdss lean. I also installed .5" toytec spacers in the top and now I'm sitting level. These are fantastic shocks, high speed, low speed , street, you name it. We also had a roof top tent on and the kdss really helps stabilize the truck with that weight up high.

Is there a reason you all selected the TRD Pro suspension over the Bistein 6112/5160 combo? The 6112/5160 combo is almost identical to the Pro suspension and is at a lower cost. It gives you the added benefit to adjust your height in the front and the spring rate is firmer.

Not slamming your choice, just curious.

If you want a good deal, just get a used TRD suspension for a fraction of the cost. I have no idea why people pay all that premium for a TRD and then immediately strip off all the TRD parts, but they do. The rest of us get a nice cheap supply of TRD parts.

Two words: Quicksand and Inferno. Then by selling their TRD suspension, they stand to recoup around half of said premium.

HAHA I hope that's not your plan! You are not going to recoup even a fraction of the price difference by selling your suspension, and then you still have to buy the new suspension. You have got to really love those colors (and narrower wheels, no sunroof, fake leather seats, no KDSS option, etc.) to go that route. Buy what you like, but don't pretend it is a smart deal.
