The TRD Offroad wheels came with OEM mag style lugs.

You can re-use your OEM lugs. That's what I did and confirmed with discount tire and a toyota tech that they are the correct ones for the Pro wheels.

That's exactly what I did. Then I swapped them out for an identical set of black mag lugs.

When I mounted the wheels/tires I took it to a Tires Plus and they mounted using the OEM stainless set (mag lugs). The tech said nothing (other than his concern for marring the wheels).

The truck rode like shit. I couldn't figure out if it was a balance issue. I still can't. Took the truck back to another Tires Plus to have everything balanced again.

I'm convinced at this point it's a harmonics issue with the suspension. It doesn't lope like a typical balance issue.

The second Tires Plus store calls me and I spend 30 minutes trying to convince them that Toyota doesn't even make a conical OEM lug for 2018 models. He tries to convince me that my ride issues have to do with the lugs not being conical (and that the mag lugs aren't just wrong, but dangerous).

I had a similar ride issue when swapping TRD Pro wheels onto my FJ Cruiser. It is a balancing issue and the tire installer had a difficult time balancing the wheels. I ended up commenting on it to the dealer and they balanced them the best they could and made sure the tires all had the same tire pressure and that helped a lot.

Have no issues with the TRD Pro wheels on my 2017 Pro.

This is correct. I put trd pro wheels on my 4th gen, used the oem mag lugs, and had no issues whatsoever.

It's weird. It only gives me grief at highway speeds and it's not consistent, sometimes it's nearly non existent and other times it's really bad. I'm starting to think it's weird harmonics issue with the stiffness of the OR suspension (or maybe even the KDSS contribution).

Being that it only happens at high speed, it leads me to think it's balance, but after 2 balances and triple checking the pressures, it's still there and I'm starting to think it's more to do with a bad vibration/rebound issue with the wheel/tire weight as it encounters imperfections in the road.

The terrible thing is my OR wheels rode beautifully. I shouldn't have messed with it.

I'm hoping that if I get an aftermarket suspension setup it will solve it or at least give me the flexibility to adjust it (if I get adjustable shocks).

No, I swapped to K02's.

The bridgestones are obviously smoother. I knew the K02s would be a little harsher and have more road noise, but this is different. It's a bad vibration at highway speeds and like I said earlier, it's not consistent.

I know what an unbalanced tire rides/feels like, and this isn't the same. I know what a tire with a broken belt feels like. This isn't like that either.

It's almost like the additional stiffness from the tire, combined with a weight change and the stiff suspension gives a weird travel/rebound harmonic and at times it's really bad and other times it's nearly non-existent (all while cruise is set at 75mph). It's as if small imperfections in the road that cause the suspension to work, are overly harsh/stiff suspension vibration.

Either way, I should have just stuck with the OR wheels and put the BFG's on them. The heavier wheel soaks up some of the harmonics I think.

I'm looking to put these wheels on my '03 4Runner V8 Sport with the stock suspension, no lift. Is yours stock and have no rubbing issues with the offset being different from the stock wheels?
