TRDPRORUNNER - Build

HI ALL. I'm digging this build and I am picking up my Black TRDP in Phoenix Saturday. I will do some MODS like the Gobi Stealth, light bar and side rails. More importantly though, did anyone figure out the clunking noise that so many TRDP owners are having? It's got me worried since I will be paying close to 44k when all said and done..TAXES for Ca suck. Should I really just consider the 2015 TEP w/ KDSS?

Post the pics! Haven't really solved the clunk issue. For me, It seems really minor in the cold. Waiting to see from others.... Jury still out. Thanks!

Totally badass. I knew you were a photographer. This is probably a great time of year to have that thing out in the desert.

Thanks for the great ideas for mods. I'm scheduled to take ownership of mine this Saturday.

Thank you sir! Yes, it's a great time of year in the desert before we hit the 115's and lose all desire to go out! Glad it helped in some way and post when ya can!

Bought the mat at Autozone for $39.99 for my TRD PRO that isn't even here yet. Lol. Wish it was thicker though.

My first MOD day on my 4Runner is going to be fun. Parts keep stacking up and I don't even have it yet! Lol

Trust me... this mat is extremely tough! Don't sweat the thickness, it's plenty for almost everything. You'll see. Still love mine... Thanks

Cool. Now it's time to get husky weather beater all weather mats or Weathertech all weather mats. But that's a different thread.

Very cool build, looks awesome. I have an Inferno TRDP showing up here within the next couple of weeks. Do you happen to know if you can attach a Thule roof box to the Gobi roof rack? I have one on my current 2011 4Runner Limited that I throw all of the snowboarding gear in when I take the kids up into the mountains. My wife is getting the old 4Runner and since she works in downtown Denver the Thule has to come off so that she can get into the parking garages there.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Steve! Appreciate the compliments. I had the rear crossbar deleted as I wanted more floor space on the rack. I was going to do a Thule but decided against it last minute. I do believe that you can attach one though as the 2 standard bars are there for that reason. Haven't measured, but pretty sure that's the case. Congrats on the new Inferno. It's a sharp color for sure! keep me posted on yours please. Best,

Did the Caves today!

Didn't plan on going, but was nearby... so threw it in 4x and did the climb! Great view of the city up there too.

Q: How many towels does it take to clean up a dusty, dirty BLACK TRD PRO?

Went to my friend Matt's (aka SLWRNR) awesome garage and cleaned up one filthy black truck. I thought I was pretty good at detailing, but his garage is like a personal auto products store and he was nice enough to devote about 4 hours on my truck with his detailing wizardry! Man, he did an awesome job! Not sure if he details other than his own cars really, but he should. His attention to detail was superb & sharp! The truck was so clean that when I tried to snap a phone pic of the door, all you could see was the reflection of his garage. He walked up and said, "I think you have the camera facing backwards". I said check it out and pulled it back to show the wheel. Matt, I appreciate your hard work man. Let me know anytime I can assist on yours. Pics below:

Thanks for the compliment, this is something I enjoy doing. It really helps when you have a second set of hands and eyes helping out.

We will bring it back in six months and do it again.

No off-roading for at least a few days please!

OK. Nothin' but Mall-Crawling' for 14 days. Doctor's orders. But when it rains... game on!

Great job. To bad I'm 2,410 miles away or else I'd have to swing by to say hi myself!

Great looking vehicle. I want to do almost the same exact mods that you have done so far. Tint was my first, I actually made the appointment for the next day while I was signing the paperwork. I love that console, any pictures of it installed?

Watch out in that BJ's parking lot in Seekonk,,people are shitheads they way they manage their gigantic shopping carts after bulk shopping.

Appreciate the compliments! I see you have a TRD on the way? Keep me posted on yours!

Best,

Just got a text message from the Jim Norton Toyota here in Tulsa. They said my order was accepted and I should see my TRD Pro first or second week of June. I ordered a Super White one. The Rep told me they are building a smaller number of white ones because the other two colors are selling better so they have to wait until they run some white ones through a little later on.

I was told mine will have my name on it all the way through production. I'm excited. I've never done that before and I've bought a BUNCH of cars over the years... (I think it's over 30 now).

150 mile roundtrip through the desert & found this oasis!

Took the ARB fridge for a serious off-road ride. Nice to cruise through the desert and just open up the hatch for a cold drink or whatever. Love this thing...
