Tru-Trac locker?

the trutrac isn't selectable correct? I would only want to run a locker in the front that I am able to cut on and off at will.
Other than that I have only heard good things about them on other platforms.

It's not selectable, and it's not a locker. It's a limited slip.
OP, what are you doing with the truck? Why do you need more traction?
I used the tru trac on my landrover and really liked the characteristics. But don't see/read anyone using them on the gen4's. the truck is used for more off road treks versus rock crawling. It is not my DD. I like the arb's but still looking at automatic options.

If you're not lifting wheels or putting good articulation on your suspension, it's a good inexpensive option to a selectable. I ran a TruTrac in the front of my '86 and wasn't a huge fan. Part of that is because I was frequently lifting a wheel and losing the benefit, but also because the TruTrac caused understeer any time the hubs were locked, even if I was in two wheel drive. That actually made it worse on slippery streets and in sand or gravel, and you wouldn't have the option of unlocking your hubs. If you're not running technical rocks, the TruTrac would be a great option in your rear diff, If you need a front locker, I really think a selectable is the right way to go in the front of a rig that sees lots of pavement.
