Trying to avoid buying UCA's with lift

So what is ideal caster for a lifted 4Runner? Where I had mine aligned, their specs said about 3.3 was "dead center" which is exactly where they set mine. It looks like the max it can go is 4.10 while still being in the green..

From my experience... if you have fixed UCAs it is simple. Go as high on caster as you can without throwing off camber.

If you need to error on one side or the other... More + is clearly better. The only time you can really get too much caster is with adjustable UCAs. 3.5 - 4.0 should be a general target. I would not trust the machines all that much though. they all measure different numbers in my experience. And like I said.. even with aftermarket fixed UCAs and a 3" lift... you won't be able to get enough + caster to cause any strange handling. With stock UCAs it is typically impossible to get enough, but there are those oddball trucks that do.

[MENTION=106176]wfo9[/MENTION] Basically covered it. If you're running stock arms, then run as high as you can without ****ing up Camber. Usually that can be anywhere as low as 1.5 to as high as 3.0 or so degrees. Most shops will balance your caster to get Camber within spec if your UCA are the limiting factor because that'll wear your tires out fairly quick.

4.0 degrees seems to be a good sweet spot for lifted vehicles, particularly with wider tires. The benefit in steering response and a bit extra clearance away from the rear of the wheel well opening is always welcome. but 3.5~4.0 is not a bad range to be in.

In certain cases you just need to crank the Caster up, for example I'm running 6.1 degrees on my 4th gen to get the 35's to stay away from the body mount (chopped) and rear edge of the wheel well on compression.
