Hell yeah, let's get this show rolling. Guess we all need to order the top grill.

So after running into my ordeal with my upper grille. I learned that what happened to my upper grill is happening more and more often according to the person I talked to.

That said I have been working on trying to get something setup for everyone that wants to order an upper grille. That will be checked before hand. That way no one is shipped a bum grille and then you have to go through a 2 week process to get a new replacement grille.

Now the caveat. It is going to cost more then the ones you can find through google. This is all just a in the works deal and has a higher chance that it wont happen this it will happen. So far the best I have found is $180 plus shipping. Still a work in progress.

I just picked up my upper grille from my local Toyota dealership and it looked identical. He had 2 More in stock so they opened them up and same deal, almost looked used. Like a old paint job and clear coat started to peel off. They ordered in a few more to see if we can find a good one.

I'm interested in seeing if they'll discount the flawed grilles. It's really nothing that a proof can couldn't fix but at $180 it's should be right.

Looks like we are going to need someone looking out for us. I will talk to my contacts and see about pricing.

I would have to be another group buy type of deal. Where 50-100 are ordered at 1 time. Last I spoke he told me $180 each with a order of 100 upper grilles. But he said they inspect all parts as a company policy before they are given to the customer. So at least it would be a non issue on our end.

Most likely this is a injection part. When we do molds for Toyota we do not use mold release sprays.

If this is on most parts it looks like the mold may have had some type of texture or grain on it and the mold has gotten damaged. A repair was most likely made and either texture not fixed or Toyota approves of this minor flaw. Sometimes it’s imposible to match.

Yes I tried alcohol. Household cleaner and crazy clean. Nothing took it off. I think it's supposed to be a matte clear cost. The parts with even coating matches the bottom grille

Paint might cover it up. But if it's some type of demold I doubt it would stick. I will take a look I have mine with me I was going to ship it back today.

I got 3 more ordered in to my dealer today and all the new ones all look like this. It's definitely a mold issue and probably not going to change no matter how many are ordered. I struck out with 0 out of 6 grilles all looking the same. Rattle can it is.
