tubes in the rear wheel well

Hi All,

I recently picked up a 2005 limited 4wd. In each rear wheel well, there are these tubes that come out. Does anyone know what they are for?

They seem to long for a drain tube. I'm not sure if this rig had XREAS before and if these are left over, but if they are from that, they seem in an odd spot.

i'm a third gen guy but my guess is a drain. on our 3rd gen, the sunroof drains are very near that spot.

I just removed my XREAS system two weeks ago and I can say, for sure, that the hose in your pic IS NOT part of XREAS.

Yeah, you could probably trim them up a little more, or at least secure them to something so they don't get snagged on anything.

It is by Inalfa. Home I think the model is 750FF, 840FF, or 925FF.

I didn't realize it wasn't OEM until after i bought the car. Overall it works and looks great. As some nice features like auto close when you turn off the ignition. Also you are able to program it to a "preferred" open position, but I haven't played with it yet.

It's weird to see an aftermarket sunroof on a Runner. You are blessed. I have always been told that aftermarket sunroofs are a terrible idea as they almost always leak. Still, yours looks pretty damned good.

we haven't had any real weather since I pick up the 4runner, but it hasn't shown any signs of leaking from when i've washed it. There are also aren't any signs of previous water seepage. So I'm stoked. The quality on it is really well done.

I do have the receipts from the previous owner. It looks like it was around $900 for the sunroof and install.

I have the same sunroof on mine. There aren't any drain tubes in my wheel wells.

I flew up to Norcal to buy my truck form a dealer. He 'failed' to mention that the sunroof was dealer installed until I arrived. I've owned it since January and ran it through many auto car washes without issues. From what I've seen they're decent sunroofs, but I still don't trust it.

My '06 has a Hollandia 700 sunroof. Works great; plenty of car washes and no leaks. There was a recall on it to re-glue the glass, but it was done before I bought my 4R.

I installed seat heaters when I added my Clazzios. I'm just waiting for the 3D printed switch inserts that my bro is designing to finish the wiring.

You can tell it isn't factory because of the switch, interior shade and the sunroof from the factory isn't that far back I don't think. Still looks like a good one though, but I would have gotten an OEM sunglasses holder with the factory switch. Looks cleaner to me IMO

Yeah, for me, I think I'll forgo attempted to add a sunroof. The roll down back window provides a certain airflow that works great! Minus the sun beating down on your forehead. Trying to think positive here peeps!

...and Daren, yeah, that's my plan. Clazzios with seat heaters. I cannot wait!

That aftermarket sunroof looks very well installed. I didn't know (I'm sure not all of them) you could install drain tubes. I thought they only came from the factory. Anyway, I would've tucked the tube out of the way, that's looks to "flobby" just to stay there in the wheel well.

Too bad our sunroofs are mostly hated on this forum. When they break, they are big money to repair (dealer or otherwise). SO FAR, seems to be the consensus that if you keep them lubed (maintained), then problems shouldn't occur. I love my sunroof, in fact, if a car/SUV doesn't have one, I don't even look at them.
