Tundra Bilstein 5100 with TRD coils

Hey it's me again and I finally got my 275/70R17 wheel and tire combo on and noticed a bit of rubbing. I think a slight lift will help with this so I was wondering if anyone has used the Tundra 5100 5 way adjustable with TRD tundra coils on the 2nd or 3rd setting from the bottom and also in what direction is the spring perch pointing so that there is no interference with the spindle
Also I wanted this slight lift since I'm planning on installing 2 10mm trim packers on the rear with my OME 906 coils since at full flex the coils might cause issues since they are loose and I don't want a noticeable rake to it

Im not a pro at this stuff, seeing that my 4runner isnt lifted yet, but all the research ive done on here has pointed to only using the bottom or the second from the bottom perch at the most or else its going to put too much pressure on the shock and make it blow out quicker. Secondly, I would only get 906's or that plus one trim packer, no need for two

PS- for future reference all the information you asked is on this forum, just gotta do some searching instead of starting a whole new thread

i just did mine with the 5100 and trd springs and it raised the fender lip from 19.5 inch to 21.5 inches. I have no idea how old the springs and shocks were that I took out.

This is exactly what I was looking to do as well. There is so much information on here you can spend 24/7 and still not read more than a couple threads. It's tough to ascertain what's what due to the vast amount of varying information. It's nice to get a answer for clarification!!

Having run the tundra coils, I'd say you'd be fine on the first or second perch. There is an install video on youtube where a guy named speedy puts together the coils, and he explains the orientation of the springs so they dont interfere with the spindle.

That being said, I don't run the tundra coils now. Instead I run the stock coils on the 4th perch with a top plate spacer. The Tundra shock has a ton of underutilized up travel that can be turned into down travel while at the same time lifting the ride height with the use of a top plate spacer. For a stock weight 4runner the Tundra 5100s will lift the truck 2.5" on the 5th perch. if you combine that with a top plate spacer like this Front Top Plate Spacer Kit you would have a very nice setup that will not have coil to spindle interference issues, and will also have decent up and down travel. you actually gain overall travel by using a top plate spacer in this scenario, because the bump stops are limiting the amount of travel. With a setup similar to this and some fairly large tires im pulling about 11" of travel.
