I'm starting to wonder if people with rubbing issues on the split 3-spoke wheels are installing calipers with aftermarket castings.

I was under the impression that all calipers are just remanufactured Toyota ones with new seals and pistons and then marketed as their brand. Did Toyota by chance have two castings for the 199mm calipers? Like for two different wheel sizes like we have on our 3rd gens?

I bought Powerstop/Callahan calipers and they were indeed just painted Toyota castings.

I thought they were all rebuilt Toyota calipers too but I don't understand why some people with the split 3-spokes have rubbing issues while others do not. The only variable seems to be the caliper shape/dimensions.

Yes I believe it's the caliper castings. I use oem toyota calipers that I rebuild myself. I can see some of these castings are different thus why some are fitting and others are not.
