The 3rd gen it might work in. I'm not sure, but def. not the 4th hen. because the 4th gen have the 4.0 and the Tacoma had the 3.4 and 3.0. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

That setup will only fit those specific Taco's. Although I beleave the 4th gen is very capable of being boosted. All we need is someone to hack the ECU and figure out all the emissions stuff. Unless an aftermarket company such as AEM or TRD comes out with a standalone system. That would definitely be something to look forward to.

I imagine that Split Second box would be okay to start. You would need an Autosport wiring harness to splice into the ECU. The ECU on my old 350Z's were very fussy also. The 4R has forged internals from the start though, unlike the Z.......

I've talked to STS before considering this turbo. The guy pretty much told me I would have to buy the entire Tundra system and custom fab my own piping (exhaust at turbo, pressurized tube up to engine). Seemed way too expensive and with that turbo hanging precariously from the underbody you can pretty much say goodbye to any moderate off-roading. Spend the money on an S/C instead...

Avoid it since I've read more than one review that thses systems have more problems than they are worth mostly due to their location.
