Turn Signals to Driving Lights?

Morning folks,

Is it possible to setup a 3rd gen to use the turn signals as such when needed, then switchback and use as driving lights? With or without a switch to have them running.

To run in unison with the DRLs and the side markers.

I am specifically in an 01 SR5 Sport V6 with the wide color matched flares. Turn signals are up front on the bumper.

If it is possible, any links to builds, etc?

Do you want to use the stock incandescent bulbs or switchback (2 color) LEDs?
For a switchback LED setup you’ll need aftermarket clear signal assemblies or take the stock ones apart and take the yellow internal diffusers. The bulb sockets need to changed to 7443 (dual filament) type, Flosser sells one that’s almost a direct fit,you can modify either the signals themselves or the sockets. Most switchback LEDs have the “dim” filament as the white color and “bright” as yellow signal so wire the existing positive wires to the bright positives,existing grounds to the new sockets’ grounds,and “dim” to the existing positives from your corner lights; the switchbacks will light up white with the parking lights or headlights on then flash yellow during turns.

Thanks for the response, you are clearly much better versed in all of that than I. I would prefer whatever is easiest, I guess I prefer the stock setup but obviously this would require a different bulb. I would be fine with the LED upgrade as long as the lights are not blinding to myself and more importantly other drivers. The switchback setup you describe is exactly what I was thinking when I wrote this post. A friend of mine actually brought it up the other day so I thought I would see what insight I might find on here.
