Had my runner in the shop getting the oil changed and inquired about having the exhaust turned. We were waiting on the oil filter to show up and didn't have anything else going on, so $35 later and I no longer have exhaust running through the back window. :thumb3:

It was intermittent as to whether or not the exhaust was coming in. I did have a large amount of black powder substance on the roof in the rear of the vehicle which I assumed was coming from the exhaust. At that point I stopped driving with the window down unless I was hauling something long.

I'm thinking of cutting mine right after the rear axle and dumping it down. Right now, it looks like its about to be ill lol.

That is where I cut mine. Right after the axle so it is pointed down. Don't have to worry at all about it getting smashed.

I also would like to know if this reduces stinky because it sure would look better and eliminate damage off road. Also, perhaps a silly question, but does that change the sound and/or performance and/or safety in any way? Seems like the purpose of the exhaust is to get it away from the vehicle, and having it up under there makes me wonder if state inspections would fail, etc. Although we don't have state vehicle inspections here in SC...

Very rarely drive with the back window down. Did a bit the other weekend and I could not smell anything.
I will take some tomorrow. Truck is on jack stands at the girlfriends house.
When I had my old muffler on it caused a lot of drone in the cab. And there for causing me to go with the borla cat back, which is about the size of stock. Now it is all good, no drone and a nice mellow tone.

Sorry for the long delay, finally had access to my computer.
As you can tell, virtually no way to smash the tip now. I actually made the cut right before the bend and this was the outcome. Very happy with it.
And I have driven with the windows down with the rear window down and no smell.

I know this is an OLD thread, but I wondered if you had any issues with extra noise or exhaust smell in the cabin (windows closed, slow moving/still) with this exhaust mod.

No issues for me and don't think it is any louder. I actually never drive with my rear window down. If I don't cool down enough with the front windows I hit that A/C button.

Replacing or modifying the tailpipe has no affect whatsoever on the sound of your exhaust. It's after the muffler
