A couple months back, Mobtown Offroad used my 4R to prototype a rear bumper for the 5th gen. They decided to go a different route from the typical rear bumpers and build more of a low-profile rear bumper with dual swingouts. The upside to this is it is lighter and it conforms to the body lines better. It also has a bolt on hitch receiver. They chose to not integrate the hitch receiver so as to remove it as a hangup point.

Next, I decided to long travel my rear suspension. I chose to go with the Dobinson's Long travel kit (12" shocks, variable rate coils, adjustable uppers/lowers) and +4 extended brake lines. I also made my own bump-stop extensions.















This netted me almost 6" of droop from the OME setup hat I used to have. Right now, at full droop, I have 32.5" from the bottom of the fender to the center of the hub. It feels amazing and has reduced my 3 wheeling tendencies a lot.

I received a Mobtown fuel can holder and fuel can from a friend who was getting rid of the swingout on his taco, and so instead of bolting it up sticking straight out, I welded it on sideways to reduce the chances of me hitting it if I drop off of a ledge or big rock.

And to finally catch everything up, this past weekend we installed a Powertrax LockRight mechanical locker (1620-LR) in the rear diff. This has been in the makings for a month or so now, but it took me a lot of research and a few calls to both Powertrax and ECGS to see if it would actually work. Which it did, so we installed it and buttoned it all back up and it is performing flawlessly.
