Twin Cities 4Runners?

Farmington Area

Hey guys,

I down here in Farmington. 2005 Sport, currently sitting on a Daystar kit but that soon to change. Icon rear and FJ combo and new UCAs to fix the alignmnet issues up front. Wheels and bigger tires to follow soon after. I am interested in getting a Twin Cities Toyota group up and going. Would be nice to get together with other Toyota owners.

Always good to see another Toyota in the Twin Cities. When you are ready to hit some trails, let me know. If you haven't trekked up to Gilbert, I'd suggest coming to our clubs open house up there May 18th.

I realize this thread is 10 months old since the last post, but I live just north of the Cities and would really like to get out and wheel if anybody is interested.

The wheeling season has kinda wrapped up for me. I will probably only get out once more before April or May. Have you been up to Gilbert yet? I'm part of the North Shore Wheelers club, one of the only active clubs that accepts all vehicle types in MN. Check out our forum we usually get out a a half dozen times a summer and always welcome newcomers. nsw4x4.com

Y'all need to check out spider lake. Just north of Pequot lakes. I'd be interested in taking a toy group through that area when I get back from Texas this spring.

Greetings, everyone!

Interesting that I started a thread identical to this one over on 120. I got precisely zero responses.

I'm over in Maple Grove and am a complete newbie. Just figured out what suspension lift I want to get when I have the money, but I've got dreams of driving my rig off-road out in the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, and the rest of the Rockies someday. Until then, I guess I'll be somewhat ready if the SHTF. :driving:

What I really need to find is places/people around here who know 4R's and can help me install stuff and teach me things.

Good to hear I'm not the only guy up here in the Tundra!

I'm west of the cities in Winsted now. I'll be in Mn for the next few months. This fall I'm planning a week long trip starting in spider lake. I'm happy to help A newbie out.

Yo, If you ever need a hand with anything PM me. I live slightly east of Elk River. I know you posted this a while ago, but I have been (and still am in ) Afghanistan. Get back sometime in October. Maybe for good, maybe for a few weeks.......but I digress.

The offer is out there, if you need a hand i'd love to help. Plus......I have good connections for shops if you wish to work on the vehicle yourself or need a professional.

Also my good friend lives off 169th In Maple Grove, i'm down there quite a bit.

I've been a long time member and lurker. Created a new name because I forgot everything about my old name. I saw a black 3rd gen yesterday on Grand Ave in STP with a 3" or so lift.

I'm from right here in the Twin Cities. I'm currently driving my 3rd 3rd gen, but my first highlander edition. Still stock height. Debating on whether or not to lift it

Hey guys,

Another local, currently i live in uptown so i have a true (urban runner) :thumb:

Anyhow i have had it for a couply months now i have added a few items to it such as 2010 sr5 wheels, 32s, tranny cooler and what not. Im still trying to get use to how slow these trucks are i have always had sports cars before.

Im down to go wheeling almost anytime that my schedule allows so PM if there is a group going out.

Slides,

I live just south of Uptown down by Harriet, and also have an UR. What color is yours? I've seen a White one out in Minnetonka by where I work..

You gotta love these urban runners i have seen a guy who lives around this area who has a white xterra w/ a snorkel, roof top tent, wheels, bumper etc. He puts us to shame haha anyhow mine is silver, i live at 31st and Emerson right now but moving later this week. I work in EP and moving back there for a few months.

I think I have seen that guy too.....I like the Xterra just too small for me! Ive seen a limited around Hopkins with a Shockworks front bumper...

It would be great to go offroading somewhere but the closet place thats decent seems to be the iron range up by gilbert.

I think more this summer/spring im going to make a trip up there with one of my buddies who has a wrangler and see what its like.

Road trip to AP this weekend

Hey guys, I haven't been on here in a couple of years. Just got my new 2013 4runner limited, all stock equipment. Taking a road trip with my wife to Munising, MI (AP), then cutting across from there to Apostles Island, WI, looking for some ideas on where I can do some off roading...any ideas?

Well I spent my college years in Houghton, MI. There were lots of trails in that area although I was not involved with 4x4 at that time. In general there will be plenty of forest service roads and gravel roads in the UP, exact location of trails I can not help you with (sorry). One comment make sure to check MI ORV rules, I moved to the Twin Cities from Lower MI and when I was there we had to have ORV permits, not sure how out of state residents are treated.
