Two Weeks for touch up paint, WTF Toyota...

Just FYI- If you need color matched paint for Toyota and it is out of stock be prepaid to wait for it. This is now considered HazMat and it has to ground ship from Abu Dhabi or some place I guess:frusty:. Ugh, I will just sit and wait I guess.

If it's just touch-up paint, I've gotten even better third-party paint online elsewhere, for cheaper. And no wait. Better because it's usually a color base, and includes a separate, secondary clearcoat.

Well, Do tell for all of us.

Toyota said they will just stock it but they have to get it. They asked for a deposit:shrug: I said" It is not my job to stock you're parts at you're dealer, call me when it gets there". The guy on the phone only knows what they are told most of the time if you are lucky.

this is true. Also depends on your order because most times it has to be shipped via ground shipping.

Why not go to a body shop, most have a digital paint mixer thats pretty spot on. When I worked at bmw all I had to do was give the guy a paint code and the machine would tell him exactly how much of each color to mix, pretty simple.

Also ask if you could get one of two of the needle like brushes, allows you to put the paint on without any drip or build up that you get with the brush that comes in the touch up bottle.

That is an idea. I since canceled the order after getting a call back, back order or so he said. At this point I really do not care anymore. I will look into this. I hope everyone else has a better experience at this than I did.

My son works at the local sherwyn williams auto paint store. He can mix a small bottle up while you wait. Might see if you have one nearby. I believe it comes with a small brush, but if not they sell everything paint related. If you can't find any locally pm me.
