Ufc 181

I never miss an event and UFC 181 is a good lineup! Any UFC fans here on the boards? Any predictions for tonights main card?

Abel Trujillo vs. Tony Ferguson - Trujillo

Todd Duffee vs. Anthony Hamilton - Duffee

Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub - Schaub (I think Browne is better but I'm pulling for my guy!)

Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez - Pettis (Melendez is good but it's so hard to bet against Showtime)

Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler - Hendricks (This fight is a coin flip. I like both fighters, but in order to steal the belt you have to dominate the champ. I don't think Bigg Rigg will let it happen)

I like Schaub but I think Brown will take it. Pulling for Pettis, he's an exciting fighter. Hendricks all the way. He's one of my favorites. Can't wait until Jan for DC vs JJ!!!

Ferguson. I think he's the better striker.

Browne. Better all around, especially standing, stopped Overeem with kicks!

Pettis. This is a tough call. They both fought Benson Henderson. Pettis beat him twice. El Niño lost to Bendo by decision.

Lawler. Hendricks has good striking but Lawler's striking is on a whole other level. Lawler's a beast with one punch knockout power in both hands. Lets see if Hendricks has the balls to stand toe to toe with Ruthless! :boxer:

Next for Lawler should be Rory IMO. Unless GSP comes back, but I can't see him timing that such that he steps in front of Rory for the title shot.

Next for Pettis? There's a lot of challengers in that division, tough to say.

I hope Rory gets the next shot at the title but the UFC has been on a streak of granting rematches lately. Don't get me wrong, Hendricks/Lawler is a great fight and so is Gus/Jones (rematch was supposed to happen before Cormier stepped in for the injured Gustafson) but at some point they have to move on down the line.

I hope Rory gets the next shot at the title but the UFC has been on a streak of granting rematches lately. They won't rematch Hendricks/Lawler given that the 1st fight was earlier this year, Johnny will have to fight a few times same as Lawler did after the 1st fight to get another shot at the belt.

Thank u! I agree that Rory should be up next. He's earned it. Lawler/Hendricks III will, and should, happen. Just not right away. I'd like to see Hendricks fight Condit again. I thought Condit won their first fight.

For Pettis, I'm not sure. Smooth seems like the only choice but Showtime has already beaten him twice. I was really looking forward to seeing Eddie Alvarez fight Pettis but he couldn't get past Cerrone.

Upcoming fights that I'm looking forward to: JonJones/Cormier, Silva/Diaz, and Rousey/Holly Holm. Was bummed HH got injured before her UFC debut.
