Sweet! I like it but 55k pounds, what's that about $90k, for that money you could get a pretty nice class A. Though I'm sure that's geared towards the European market where bus size motorhomes are impractical.
That's a nice VW. Only downside to it is you can't travel with the entire family in it. What's the point of sleeping four if you can only travel with two (three with the bench seat). I guess the wife and kids need to be strapped on the roof till you get to your destination. :driving:
Pretty sweet concept. But, I too think that's a bit much $$ for something that only carries 2 people.
For much less money, I'd prefer a used Unimog radio truck or similar converted into a camper. Mind you, it's much larger and it's size would hinder getting it into certain places...but that VW won't be going too far off the road either.
While these are interesting concepts, my ultimate camping will always be a simple dome tent, set in a wooded clearing near a lakeshore. Nice and simple. The toys go into the truck, for daytime recreation away from camp, not AS the camp.
