PTSD.....No joke, back when i Joined the Army it was called "going all nam" in reference to the "crazy Vietnam vets" we all grew up around.

Today it it called PTSD and it makes these guys loose their minds and crawl deep inside to regain purpose.

I served in the Gulf War and I ETS'd in 2001. I was fortunate to have not been affected like some of our brothers have.

I think this is just another case of a soldier returning home, and feeling out of place.

If you have not seen, touched and smelled burned, decaying, sliced, exploded, bloated, and sun cooked Human bodies it it hard to imagine what effect it has on your mind. But I can tell you I have been there, in person, with the maggots and the stench...It stays with you and makes you very aware that life is VERY temporal and we are all walking worm food. Minds break under this kind of pressure, and i think this guys is an example.

huh. it takes all kinds I suppose, but that one just popped my brain into neutral. I'm stumped.

After 20 years of serving in one of the most hardcore SF units on the planet, I'd say he is justified to do whatever he damn well pleases. Its not like any of them give two sh*ts what anybody thinks about them anyways.

Trust me I GET IT, and agree with you 100%. After serving in places that few ever went and made it home to talk about it. It dose have an effect on you that is life long. Thank you for your service before I was able to hold the torch and keep the wolfs away.

Whatever he/ she wants to do is fine with me......I don't have to understand it. And I still respect his/ her service for sure.

I feel bad for the first guy to try and snatch her purse! THAT mugger will likely suffer from some form of PTSD afterwards!

I heard that he/she was never a seal and CNN is (surprise) wrong. Apparently he was in a SF type job though.

Gender identity is tricky thing. It is totally different than sexual identity and often very misunderstood. Also there is the whole biology aspect.

CNN had to find some BS story to put up on the front page to offset the NSA surveillance/gross invasion of privacy/violation of whatever is left of the Bill or Rights under Obama scandal du jour.

They quickly put up the header of "no one is spying on you" when the Ministry of Propaganda told them to and this was bumped down.

Sofrep is always a good place to find information if you are looking for that stuff. Brandon dose a good job of keeping as much of the facts strait as he can. Always good dudes there.
