undercarrage rust worry?

That front skid plate has oil residue on it, not undercoating. That's where oil drops during oil changes - nothing to worry about there and probably has keep the rust at bay there.

LMAO! The steelie spare almost looks brand new.

That's what i was thinking. The spare on my '01 had so much rust, the piece that's attached to the cable was actually fused to the steel wheel. I had to use a 5lb ford wrench to separate the 2. The spare on my '99 doesn't look too much better, lol.

I agree with the other posters, if the seller is a straight up seller, he will take better pics for you. If he doesn't want to be bothered because you're not local to him just move on to a different rig. It will be even worse for you if you fly to where the 4runner is and you find things that weren't disclosed or the owners idea of "clean, good condition" doesn't match reality...
 
Rust

This is RUST. First one I looked at and walked away immediately. Wanted $3500! Luckily he still has it for sale and nobodies bought this death trap! Sad though that people are only out to get your $$$. So that to me is nothing compared to what it could be. Good luck!

Eh, a little POR15 and a diff fluid change and that 4Runner will be good to go! :biggrin1:
