Thanks for understanding. Generally takes a lot of work to coordinate these group buys. So, pacing myself too.

Closing a few of them (underhood lighting and raingler net) this weekend, and then will likely to kick off Console Vault and Undercover...... (or maybe OME/Bilstein suspension)....

I need numbers. If everyone is waiting and not participating, we'll never get the numbers. So, signing up is the best to get info. Also, my typical agreements with vendors/manufacturers is to NOT publicly post/disclose the group buy deal, so that random people don't go to them after GBs and push for discounts when no GB is ongoing (I can't understand how those people actually think, but this does happen)....

Whats the target number of buyers?

21 confirmed so far at a minimum of $450 per unit - almost 10k in revenue before discount so far

Are you sure the all 21 will pay up? Are you willing to front this purchase and assumed that all 21 will pay up?

There are lots of logistics to these GBs, and you can only assume certain percentage will pull thru.

I am working hard on this. Some manufacturers are willing to work with us, some won't, and then more logistics will need to align to get it going.

Saving you guys a few bucks DO take a lot of works, guys!!

So....

I understand what you're saying, but realize getting people to commit when they don't know what they are committing to is going to be impossible.

I have participated in many group buys, I've even run 2 myself (not fun), so can I suggest that you work with the vendor on getting numbers upfront? I would say if we get 10 buys we get X amount off, if we get 15 we get Y amount off, and if we get 20 buys, we get Z amount off. That way we will know, at a minimum of 10 buyers, we get a certain amount. This way we can commit to buying know that, and if we get more off because more buyers joined, great!

Without this, I really think it will be too hard to get people to commit and too hard for you to get vendors to commit because they don't know how many units they will be moving.

I have no doubt that you put a good deal of effort into these group buys and for that we all THANK YOU for organizing them.

I was hoping that a target number would be revealed so at least anyone else on the fence out there might have an idea of the potential for reaching the target.

I just completed purchase in another GB that wrapped up in 3 weeks with 45 participants - that group buy had a tiered approach with increasing discount levels. Once the max discount was achieved at 15 participants the number tripled in a few days

I can see your approach works as you have successfully completed other GBs but it does seem that when people know the number needed its easier to make the decision based on info at hand.

Again I do appreciate your efforts - hopefully this one picks up some momentum soon.

Sure wish I knew it would work on our GX. Anybody know???? I'm going to go hunt and see if the GX can receive and use the 4th gen without looking like a turd. If so, I'm in.
