Universal 3rd generation headrests?

Hi there
I'm trying to do some research for part of a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and need some help! He has a 2002 4runner and unfortunately the rear headrests are missing. Im trying to track down a used pair, but have some concerns. The material is gray cloth, and although I've seen similar fabric on other years (2000 to be exact) I'm not sure if it's a universal fit. Ideally I'd like to get a 2002 pair, but Im just wondering if all third generation headrests will fit regardless of year? I've tried finding part numbers online to compare, but no such luck. Anyone have any experience?

Yes, all 3rd Gen rear headrests will fit....it's just a question of getting the right color/material.

I would use car-part.com to search for spares at salvage yards, and then call them and ask for the specifics. Also get them to check the condition, if they will, before you drive out, as many of the salvage rigs are not watertight any longer.

They have some grey cloth ones at a salvage yard near me for $35 each.

Wow...Toyota only wants $370 EACH for these...and that's a discounted price. I'd go salvage yard!
