Unlocking doors going from Drive to Park

I used Carista to set my 2014 up that way.
Carista isn’t a scam and does what it is designed to do. I’m not a fan of their current pay model, but I bought the app prior to the changes and have unlimited access/use. (At least I did. I haven’t used it in a while.) My dealer wanted way more than Carista charges to make those changes.

Holy Crap. I just checked Carista’s current pricing. $90 for lifetime access. I think I paid about $20 for it back in the day.

You can adjust all these and more through the infotainment system/entune under vehicle settings. Do you guys not read your owner manuals? ��

No and that's not even a 4Runner in the video. It only became available in 2020 when Toyota switched headunits.

It can, but must be done through dealer or Christa app/dongle. I had my dealer do it at no charge. But my list became really long once i realized i could change so much more. Like remotely opening windows, automatically locking doors at a specific speed and delaying rear wiper speed more. I had to go back twice to get it all done the way i wanted.
I realize now the Christa app/dongle thing would have been a better option since there are so many setting options that i could do my self and play with it a bit more. You can always just subscribe for a month then stick it in a drawer. Not bad for only 40-50 total.
Is a scam a problem if it works perfectly for you?

You can change the lock settings by yourself without any special tool. There is a procedure for it, it involves turning the key and pressing the locks in a specified manner. I will have to look around for it and will post it when I find it.
I used this method on my '19 TRD ORP and it works. I have it set so that the doors lock when going from Park to Drive, but do not unlock at all automatically.

Found it. Page 101 of the owner's manual (for my '19 anyway). Section labeled "Automatic door locking and unlocking systems". It tells how to set and cancel those functions. This is just for the door locks that lock/unlock based on shifter position and/or speed. It's not for any of the other customizable features.
That is the exact reason why I had mine disabled. The dealer did it free of charge along with setting a longer interval for rear wiper intermittent mode. I had it done at the same time as one of my complimentary "ToyotaCare" oil change/tire rotations but had to schedule at a time when they had a "master programmer" available.

That's exactly what i did as well.
I tried that many years ago with mine but never could get it to work. I had some other changes I wanted to do so I went with Carista. Dealer wanted $100 to make the changes for me.
What is entune. We have a 2019 ORP and we don't have it but we have it in the wifesCamry but never use it.
