Update - YOHO 4Runner Bed Platform For 5th Gen Trucks

Hi all, we have a new video out showing the actual hardware and a few other changes from the original video.
We have our own YT channel now and will be updating it often.

The drawer system is complete, but getting the hardware we need in bulk has been a pain in the butt. We should have EVERYTHING sorted out next week.

Looks great! Love some of the improvements! Some observations:

- Hard to tell from video for real-world use, but wish those connecting brackets were NOT longer than the wood. Stuffing a tote or something underneath might not fit so cleanly. Also snagging clothing or other things you might grab from under?
- Have you experienced or heard of any issues with the pressure against the seat latch OR the wheel well plastic?
- Would be cool to offer an addon option that allowed it to be used with the rear seat bottoms REMOVED. That opens a lot of useful storage underneath, but the front might need different braces/legs
- Love love love the idea of "half-width usage" buttt I really wish it was a cleaner usage instead of having to unscrew the wood blocks. I see doing both single and double usage depending on the weekend, but couldn't the extra blocker piece screw on separately, or latch around the block, or something?


Was supposed to be camping 3 nights at o'hara in yoho end of August, had to cancel due to friend getting sick (thankfully not covid!)

I know the front of the system hooks on to the latch of the seat bottom, but can the seat bottom behind driver be removed for extra space, or does the wood still rest partially on it? Or some other reason it wouldn't be advised?

Sorry I missed this question.

We had the smaller brackets at one point, but went with the larger brackets because it was easier for the user to assemble and they are stronger.
The brackets are in line with the wheel well so they don't really get in the way.

Believe it or not the seat latch doesn't do much or take much weight. 90% of the load is carried over from the cantilever, so the side rails are handling most of the weight.

The rails do not move around so there has been 0 rubbing effect on the top of the wheel wells. That and the material used (western red cedar) is softer than the hard plastic wheel wells.

Those two person slat blocks take literally about 2 min to remove and install the single rail. I usually do that the night before and always keep those small blocks in the truck in case I need to switch back.

With the rear seat out, the bed will still work as the side rails take the weight.

Customer needs to buy the IKEA parts.
We thought this would be the easiest and cheapest way of doing it because IKEA is everywhere it seems. For us to ship the parts would be more expensive.

The boards in the video look great. When I got mine, they were splintered and dinged up because of shipping. Y’all might want to reconsider how they are packaged up when shipping. (Oh, and I never got that promised refund for the new lower cost shipping).

Good info, thanks for that. Hmm, so far this is the first dinged up bed due to shipping. Maybe we will start double boxing them?

We are still getting through the refunds we are giving out since we lowered the shipping rates. You will probably see yours back by end of next week.

Seriously considering this. Mainly to get my mattress off the floor and allow me to store gear underneath. Would love to read more reviews from forum members.
