Updated floor mat thread for 2015

I searched the site for a "vs." thread with regard to Husky vs. Weathertec floor mats for my 2015 LE. Does anyone have an opinion and hopefully pictures of them installed? All of the threads I found were old (2009 or older).

Husky Weatherbeaters are a tad bit more rubbery while the Weathertechs feel more like plastic. People have said that the weathertechs are slippery when wet. I was going to get Husky Weatherbeaters but ended up changing my mind because I like the look of the weathertech digital fit and weathertechs have better coverage in my opinion.

When I was looking it seemed to be an even split between Husky and Weathertech, both were well liked.

I did a hybrid - Custom fit Husky in front and middle and a Weathertech universal cut to fit for the cargo area. $59 vs $114 for custom fit for cargo.

I went with weathertechs, mostly because their website is easier to follow, better pics and there is an easy Canadian shipping option

I think the huskies though have better overall 'coverage".

not sure about the feel, the weather techs don't really feel plastic-y to me, but they are hard not floppy (that's what she said), and I don't feel they are slippery ever.

but they are super ****ing hard to clean, the black ones don't ever really get clean enough to call black again unless you actually hand scrub them.

I vacuum cleaned mine, and then just take a cloth and some general purpose spray on liquid cleaner and wipe them down. Pretty easy to get them cleaned!

I bought WT for my wife's MDX and Husky for my old 4Runner. My kids had the WT's all rolled up from stepping on the back edge with their @#$%^ feet all the time. No roll on the Husky's, though (to be fair they do spend more time in her car). When I got her a new Highlander so I could get a TRD Pro, we both got Husky's.

Not sure how people think husky has better coverage, my weather techs go higher up the tunnel and foot wells. Can't go wrong either way, weather tech is what I chose for the 3rd time. IMO they look better

Perhaps they have improved the design. All the pics/reviews I saw showed no full coverage of the dead pedal.

I have all 4 of my cars (3 Subaru's, 1 4Runner) stocked with WeatherTech and find 100% satisfaction. I take them out, hit with hose, brush, wash off and re-hose . They look new ever time and no wearing.my carpet has been protected and looks brand new.

Your picture clearly illustrates the lack of dead pedal coverage with the Weathertechs. The top of the dead pedal is exposed, with the Husky Weatherbeaters this area is covered. Most people rest their left foot there so that's why full coverage in that area is important. Looks like Weathertech does offer slightly more coverage on the right side of the mat but for me and many others this doesn't matter because no one rests their foot there. As long as the mat is curved up a bit in this area (bowl effect) to keep spilled liquids, etc... contained you're fine. Husky's mat does this and is more than adequate.

Each company makes a good mat and like others have said most would be happy with either one. To me Husky gets the nod because of the better coverage in a critical area.

agree both are great... not sure I would consider a dead pedal critical area... but tat is the beauty of America.... we get to have opinions
