Updated my Sport Edition Wheels!

I found an online company that would match my Shadow Mica body color on my 2007 (1F4 code) for $20 for a spray can. I have been toying the idea of customizing my wheels. They're not horrible, by any means, but in preparation of some new $$$ tires, I had a little time to give it a shot. Some tape, primer, clear coat and off I go. Tires are expensive enough and I didn't want to pay out more $$$ for wheels.

Everyone knows what the stock Sport Edition wheel liiks like. Here is a "before"

After cleaning, start taping carefully. Some skinny 1/8 tape worked awesome for edges and curves..

Finally got those 33's, backordered for a month...

And done.
I bought 2, 12oz cans, but only used 1/2 of 1 can. Perhaps my future CBI bumper(s) I will do body color.. ??

Ive never really been a fan of painted stock wheels, but these are definitely an exception. They look great!

Love the 33 Duratracs, noticed you removed mud flaps, did you have to do anything else to fit? (Trimming?) What lift do you have?

I have billies with the ring as high as possible on the front. Stock springs. Rear is AllPro 2" coils, and lower rear links (beef!!). Rear didn't rub, but was close. Removed rear flap for asthetics. Front needed trimmed at the lower bumper cover. Removed flaps from the front. The 2" AllPro springs lifted the rear more than thought. I am (for the time being) going to add a 3/4" Toytec spacer to the front to help level it out.

My stock tube Sport Edition step bars are for sale by the way...

My "crude" original ideas... I went with the top. I can do the others later, it will just be an addition at that time, but I know painted wheels always get scraped up along the rim lip and don't look so good later...
