Using new Tundra wheels on a 4th gen

I picked up a set of 2025 Tundra takeoffs 265/70-18 Geolandars to replace the stock 265/60-18 on my 2008 V8 Limited, thinking I could squeeze them in there.

What I didn't account for is the M14 lug nuts for the Tundra wheels.

Is there a good solution to this mismatch, or should I just re-sell these and go with new tires on my existing rims?

This was mainly a money-saving plan, and I got the Tundra wheels cheap enough that I should be able to get my money back out and start again.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Edited to add: Do all current 6x Tundra/4Runner/Tacoma wheels have M14 lugs?
Edited again to add: Apparently so. Tundra/Sequoia since 2022, Tacoma since 24, 4Runner since 25(?).

I would resell the Tundra wheels and put new tyres on your 4th Gen wheels, rather than trying to make the mismatch work.

The problem is not just the thread size. Your 4th Gen uses M12x1.5 studs, while the 2022+ Tundra wheels are made for M14x1.5 hardware, so an M12 nut will not centre correctly in the larger lug hole and will not give the same clamping or thread engagement. There is no safe, simple adapter nut that fixes both the thread and the seat at the same time, and drilling or reaming a wheel to change its lug seat is not a good idea on a road vehicle.

Check the centre bore as well before you spend anything else: the newer Tundra hub bore is smaller than the 4th Gen 4Runner hub bore of 106.1 mm, so the Tundra wheel may not even seat flat on your hub. Bolt pattern alone, 6x139.7 on both, does not make them interchangeable.

For your 2008 Limited, a straightforward route is a 17 or 18 in wheel with 6x139.7, a 106.1 mm hub bore, an offset near stock, and a load rating at or above the stock wheel. That keeps the hub-centric fit and the correct M12x1.5 conical-seat nuts, and avoids turning a money-saving plan into a wheel-seating problem.
