Using the key to open the rear window

Is there a chip reader or something in the key or hatch that could be going bad? In the last few months when I put the key in to open or close the window it won't turn for about 15 seconds then it will work normally. It does this if the truck is locked or unlocked and it doesn't matter if I'm trying to go up or down with the window. My unused spare key acts the same but it might only be 3-5 seconds before it works. Any other ideas?
