V8 Piston slap

Took my 4runner V8 to the dealer yesterday for thumping sound, when starting up in the morning there is a thumping noise and after a min. or lease it goes away. Talk with the chief tech., he said it's piston slap and its not that uncommon because of the emission. does this sound right. is this true.

yes, i have it too, as do many other V8's......goes away once warmed up right?
