Value $$ of the XREAS suspension on the Sport..

Hello, It's Been a long time since posting to the site.. But I've had my 2005 for a while and have interest in lifting my 2005 Sport edition.. Then I realized I have the XREAS suspension system.

If I go with Toytec full system with the Bilsteins I have to remove the XREAS.. Has anyone regretted this move??

If not.... Is there any value in keeping the XREAS system lying around the garage or should I scrap it..

Once you remove it it's probably worthless. Chances are you'll likely lose some fluid in the process of removal, and that's all she wrote.

Scrap it, unless you might want to go back to stock some day. It will just sit in your garage taking up space.

Not if you take it apart at the quick disconnects. You will only lose a couple drops of fluid. I removed mine this way and even got out the lines going to the main canisters only having a couple drops leak out. I'm still going to scrap them, but I didn't have a mess.

There there is very little value in the system. If you managed to disconnect it at the junction points and keep the parts together, you could sell it as extra parts. But it will be be a used part that may or may not have much life in it. Its also a low demand item as people just go after market usually. Shipping will be difficult so its probably be pick up only. Its just too much hassle to justify trying to sell it in my opinion.

Thanks guys.. That's what I was thinking but just needed to confirm..
Still debating on the spacer lift of full coil overs.. Sounds like the Toytec/Bilstein gives a pretty good ride.. I need to make room for some bigger tires soon..

I don't miss the xreas at all. I went with icon coil overs and I'm still amazed at the ride after 22,000 miles. A bit firmer, but more plush and controlled. It actually corners better even though it's taller. I speed up for speed bumps just to feel the truck soak it up. Icon used their spec valuing in bilstein rear shocks and the fronts are rebuild able 2.5" bodies. I HIGHLY recommend them. Also the fronts are adjustable from stock to 3" lift. So you can keep the stock rear and level the truck, or go with their 2" rear springs and have a slightly raked look but taller truck.

Thanks ZIMM,,, Not sure if I do enough off roading to warrant the upgrade right now.. But it is very tempting.

BTW... Great looking Ride.. Love the setup...
