Just keep in mind, some times low miles are not what they seem.
What I mean by that is even with low miles if a rig is not driven things start to fall apart from lack of use....
I would never pay that much for that truck, even with the " Toyota tax" Thats WAAAAAAY too much. Look up the KBB value and go from there... cut his price in half and offer cash in front of his face.... make a compelling argument and see where it goes... They are selling a late 80's toyota truck, not a duesnberg.... its not worth that... just my .02

Once a truck is over 20 years old, mileage becomes irrelevant. It could have 5000 miles or 500,000 miles, it's still an old truck and will need work. As to what you should pay, that's your call, what's it worth to you? I wouldn't pay more than $3000 for a stock truck that I was planning on actually using as a truck.

Look at other options for that number. I'm thinking 2002 w/125k or maybe even a 4th get w/V8.
It's worth what someone will pay and an '86 in great shape is very cool and very rare. For me, I have to look at what else I could drive for that number. You can't compare it to other '86s. You just won't find 'em.

Opinions on 2015 TE
Not sure if this is where to post, but would really appreciate some feedback, opinions and advice in purchasing a 4runner. I'm looking into a 2015 TE with ~65k miles on it, which is seems pretty high to me, but I know these guys last for a long time with proper maintenance and care. Dealer is asking $30k for it.

I'm assuming the previous owners probably use this for long road trips, off roading and overlanding.

That is high for the mileage. I've seen 2015 TEs in my area go for $30K with 30,000 miles on the odometer. If you go out to Cargurus you can use the app to see what the truck is worth.
That guy is dreaming in techna color to think he can get that for the 86. I guess he thinks he has a collectors item. I might would look at paying half of that. But who knows, someone may come along and pay it.

For about 8k more you can get a brand new TEP (Now called Off Road Premium), maybe even less. TE (Now called Off Road) should be even less than that. There is a topic in the 5th gen section on how much did you pay for your new 4runner you should check out.

As with others I think that is high for the miles. Personally my 13 had around 70k miles and a CPO unit and significantly cheaper. One owner and all.
Thanks for the replies! I guess my next questions would be: would you even think of purchasing a 2015 with this mileage this high? if so, how much would you pay for a 2015 with 63k miles?
If you go by kbb, that is about the amount of miles it should have.

On the 86 I guess it all depends on the condition. If it's a time capsule I can see 10 grand. Especially if it's an SR5. All depends on what you plan to use it for too. Want to use it off road? Find a cheaper one, probably already built up for a lot less.
I think I paid too much for my 2011 trail. Bought it last month for $25k. But after looking at a few others in the same year range 2010-2013 that were absolute toilets this was THE truck. 35k miles, CPO, and looks/smells new. Once I saw it I didn't care so much about the price. Most of the 100k mile plus toilets were around $15k. One smelled so bad I wouldn't even get in it.
