Once I got my rebuilt engine in there was a slight ticking noise when cold, which got signifigantly louder once it warmed up. I towed it to the shop that did the build on my engine. They are saying that two of the valves tightened up due to seating further once the engine built pressure and are waiting on a couple of shims to correct the problem...now the question. From my experience, tight valves can cause a missfire, but no noise. Loose valves cause noise, especially when the engine gets to operating temperature. Any exceptions to this rule?
