venting my frustrations with my dealership. POWER TOYOTA OF CERRITOS...

As for the constant ticking, I had them just tighten everything underneath related to the exhaust as they told me that it was something in the exhaust rattling. Well, so far the noise is almost completely gone and I notice that the truck actually runs much better. I know that sounds weird but if I would hit the gas hard to pass someone on the highway the car felt as if it was lagging. Now it just goes zooming by. If the noise comes back I will have the dealership where I bought it look at it. I spoke to a Toyota Tech online and he thinks it might be a leak in the exahust manifold.

that sounds like an unusual problem. does it sound like engine knock perhaps? that would make a pinging sound and cut power while trying to accelerate. i had this problem last week with a bad tank of gas from shell. added some premium to it to balance out the octane and it was gone.

I have been changing the gas since I have had it which is now 1 1/2 years. If you have the vehicle in park and hit the gas you don't hear the noise, but when you are on the road and actually hitting the gas you could hear it clear as day. Since they tightened everything up I don't really hear it anymore. I will have to wait and see what happens.

hank, the runner was bought in tracy, ca (about 350 miles north of los angeles), but the cerritos dealership is closest to me. i'm beginning to think that cerritos toyota replaced the cats with the wrong part because the smell is just as strong now as it was before i brought it in. i've also had problems with their body shop as well. i brought in my supra for body repairs years ago. when i got the car back, the front bumper was VERY misaligned and the quality of work was atrocious (bad color match/pimples/dimples). i will be taking my warranty work to other dealerships and recommend everyone else do too.

STAY AWAY FROM POWER TOYOTA OF CERRITOS!!!!
