Viair 300P and 400P

FYI....I don't know if someone has knockoffs, closeouts, or there's some other reason but at least one vendor on Amazon has some pretty amazing prices on Viair products. The 300P is going for less than $100 and the 400P only $10 more. I was scouring Ebay and elsewhere and both of these still seem to run $150+ most other places.

So, I hit the button for a 400P. This seems to be a lot of "bang for the buck" compared to the Master Flow MF-1050 or other pumps that CAN be a good pump with some modifications (upgraded cable, fix the valves, etc.).

I use the Honey add-on with Amazon and it seems the price on the 400P was nearly $170 a month ago and has rapidly declined. No idea why....

Can't speak to the price drop but I used a 300 for a while on my 5th Gen until I got onboard..No issues w/Viair here..good deal too!

And I thought I got a good deal on my 300P at $107 one month ago. That's a great price. By the way, the 400P kit with hose, etc., is still $178, which I think it has been for a while.

The 300P just dropped in price again to $85. Looks like that was some weird deal on the 400P. It shot back up to $154.

FYI....I got the 400P today and went to try it out. If you're on the fence about getting a "real" pump over the WalMart special I can see where the money went. It's crazy quiet for the amount of air it puts out. Other reviews are true in that the pump does get hot. Have you ever touched the head of your home compressor?? They get hot.....

The specs on the 300P are just barely less volume, pressure, duty cycle than the 400P. Now that there's been another price drop I probably could have just gone with the 300P (I'm only running 32" tires).

The power cord is kind of short, but they made the hose plenty long to reach front to back. The carry bag is a tight fit but seems to be a quality piece. The valve doesn't work well with my valve stems. I don't have the really short ones (I think they're actually longer than stock) but the right-angle connector on the hose is blocked no matter which angle I've tried.

I bought a 400P-A a few months back for over $200. I don't regret it for a minute. Those new prices are crazy - wonderful crazy.

Ok, I had to google. Walmart is showing mine for $174.96 and then there's a blurb that says "Save an extra$23.50 on this item when you choose pickup at checkout."

Does anyone know if the 300p would be fast enough to seat tubeless MTB tires? Or does that require a compressor with a tank?

I bought the 300 from amazon and use it for my 33's and have 0 issues. I recommend to anyone looking for a cheaper option.

The 300P has dropped some more to just under $70.... Now I'm wishing I'd save the $40 and went that route over the 400P (there's very little difference in output).

For seating tires you're going to need a tank for sure. One of the small 2-gallon portable ones would probably be enough but you need a "blast" of air to seat a tire. You'll also need to pull the valve core and have some kind of air chuck that is open without pushing in on the valve and a separate valve on the tank. I've got an old water type fire extinguisher that works well for that purpose.

I picked up a pair of these off amazon to replace the one on the 400P I just bought. The angled air chuck wouldn't work well with my valve stems (bad angle) and really the deflator option was just kind of silly.

The 88P is also on sale. I got this about 4 years ago, and now it's 1/2 the price (now around 40.00) that I paid before! Not as powerful as the 300P or 400P, but good enough for my use since I don't drive in places where I need to air down often.
