Vibration felt at stop lights...

hi.

just got a 2002 sport edition.
i haven't driven it much until today.
i noticed every once and a while (more often than not) a vibration while in DRIVE at a stop light. of course the vibration goes away in neutral. so i am thinking it is the transmission or maybe a mount??? i only have a couple weeks left on the 30 day warranty. should i take it in? really hate to if it is nothing that may just go away on it's own! yeah, right. i am very good at fixing my own cars...any pointers if others had this same problem? hopefully it is the computer trying to balance everything and it may be alright on it's own. tonight i went for a test drive and it seemed to have a rythmn...like a wave. strange.

thanks!

Most of the time this is a sign of a fading motor mount... i would have it looked at, as these are a bitch to change in most cases. (never done one on a yota before.)

dont worry, ive had that same thing in my 01 for the last 2 months. i got it looked at and it is indeed a motor mount, but its nothing serious.

edit: oh, it has a rhythm? is it constant? cause ill have it at one red light, then itll be gone by the time i reach the next one. then it wont come back for days.

Vibration update

thanks for the info.
it is not constant. comes and goes just as you experienced.
i better get this fixed while i still have time on the warrenty.

thanks again!

if you do get it 'fixed' let me know.

i reported this problem on yotatech and several members said they have had the same thing for a LONG time and it is no problem.

so just dont stress too much.

bad motor mounts wont hurt anything but your gas milage and power. If its under warranty i'd get them replaced.
