vibration from left front?

I have a vibration that seems to come from the left front. It is most apparent when my foot is on the gas at a light to moderate load. Does anyone have experience with a bearing going out or a motor mount that has gone south? My mechanic has suggested I check the transmission mount first. Any input would be great.
