Vibration in 4wd

Hey all,

I haven't been driving the 4Runner regularly in a couple months, but I put on the summer tires on my other car and had to go play in the snowy mountains, so took the Runner up.

Anyway, i noticed that if I put it in 4wd hi and pressed on the accelerator, I'd get a pretty alarm of vibration above 50mph. If I coasted down hills, no vibration.

I had this happen when I used to drive it more too but I thought it was the poorly balanced new duratracs. Obviously not if its the acceleration that's the variable.

So, going through the more recent history of things that might effect this;

-the front diff blowoff valve spewed a lot one trip this past winter. I don't think I ever checked the fluid level after that, so that's an easy and obvious first place to check, right?

-I replaced the cvs with cvj remans late last summer. I remember I had some trouble determining if one of them was pushed into the front diff far enough. Maybe that?

-the steering is pretty loose. I'm not sure if it was always like that and I just was used to it, but I know i have a small leak in the steering rack (torn boot that I taped up). I check the fluid level regularly and it barely ever goes down.

Thoughts?
