Victory 4x4 T4R Window Molle Panel Installed

Received and installed part of my Victory 4x4 order today. Still waiting on the standard size roof rack, but the rear window Molle Panel arrived.

The Victory 4x4 Molle panel appears to be good quality and fit was fairly precise and solid. I really like that the factory cleat for cargo netting and the hook on the headliner are retained. Installation took a few minutes following the online instructions.

The only thing I REALLY hate about this product is the two white nylon spacers that show when installed. I know it's not a big deal, but they make the product look really cheap. I solved this with 3/4" electrical heat-shrink tubing. $2.45 for a two pack of tubing (see photo) is enough to do both the driver and passenger side Molle panels. I only purchased one panel for the driver side.

• Simply cut the tubing a little longer than the spacer.
• Slide the spacer in the tube and shrink it with a heat gun.
• Trim the tubing flush with the nylon spacer after shrinking and you're set.
• Install the molle panel per the instructions.

It looks perfect! Victory 4x4 should consider a different spacer that blends in with the interior and Molle panel or they should cover the spacers with heat-shrink at their shop before it ships.

Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

What are you storing on there? Do you feel it exposes something of value when the rear window is down? I really enjoy moonroof open and rear down and don’t want to advertise I have items of value inside.

Thanks, I already had that thought and that's my next step. I mentioned including black hardware as standard in the Victory 4x4 roof rack thread. I honestly think they should consider including black stainless hardware with all of their bolt together products instead of regular stainless unless requested by the customer.

I never drive around with the windows down in blistering hot FL. The back window comes down to grab something quickly or if I'm dragging something long home from the Home Depot.

The items on the molle panel are a recovery strap, 150' of rope, gloves, soft shackles and a Hi-Lift jack base. All of those things are usually visible in a plastic bin in the back anyway. That bin takes up too much room when we're on road trips. The Molle panel buys me back some much needed space in back.

Unfortunately, Toyota sucks at building in hidden storage space. The T4R essentially has none. Hell, there's not even a storage compartment for sunglasses like on the ceiling of my old Tundra. All of that crap on the molle panel fits in a hidden compartment under the rear floor of my wife's Honda Pilot. Had to find a solution for the T4R and the Victory panel seems to work pretty well.

My 2019 TRD Off Road doesn't have ay storage on the ceiling that I know of unless I'm missing something. My '09 SR5 Tundra had way more thoughtfully laid out storage.

Great! I’m sure you’ll like the look better with the heat shrink on the spacers.

Wondered if anyone would comment on the WE Knife. The flipping action and smooth fall shut closing are amazing on this knife (and all of their knives). Honestly, I think their manufacturing is at the top for factory produced knives.

This was really just a pic of my pup but it shows my racks pretty well.
Axe. Flashlight. Crazy knife. Wipes. Ammo. Gloves. Rope. Bags. Tire puncture kit. First aid. Etc. it holds everything
I drive with the back window down a lot. Honestly you can’t see much and you certainly can’t see thru the tinted windows when they’re closed

Nice trick with the heat shrink. I didn't think of that and just wrapped mine with some electrical tape. I made the same comment to Victory about the black spacers and hardware as well.

Great looking install! I agree, we had a difficult time sourcing black spacers but I will share this with engineering,

I know what you mean. Coming from a Tacoma which had a lot of nice 'hidie holes' to store all sorts of small stuff my new to me T4R has nothing so the panels are a great idea to gain some much needed storage. I got the Rago panels which installed easy enough but like you the shinny stainless hardware just didn't sit right. I made myself a plastic cover to hide the top bracket hardware. The heat shrink idea is awesome and I'm going to use that if you don't mind. Eventually I'll swap out the stainless hardware... one day!

Please use my idea! As a matter of fact, I hope Victory 4x4 uses my idea as well as shipping the panel with black hardware. I'll end up painting my hardware because I really don't like the silver and black contrast.

I'm liking the panel so much, I'm considering a 2nd one for the passenger side!

After installing the Victory 4x4 panel, I wasn't crazy about keeping rope and bungee cords in a Milwaukee tool bag made for expensive cordless tools high up where it could be easily seen.

I broke out the welder and some leftover 18 gauge expanded steel and 3/16" rod from a previous project and made a basket. Shot it with a couple coats of Rustoleum hammered black paint (rattle can). It's bolted to the molle panel and makes accessing the ropes and bungees super easy. I'm assuming very visible rope and bungees won't tempt thieves to break in like a case for a $300+ tool.

I also solved the silver bolt head contrast with some hinged screw covers from the ACE hardware.
