Vinyl wrap information

Hey guys, I've been thinking vinyl wrapping my lil girl (Rig) for a while now, however, but I'm stuck in a dilemma if I should because I love to hit the dirt and get dirty. I want to know how long will it last before it peels and how durable is the wrap while going offroading?

I was looking into doing this as well on my grill. I got a quote and it was too expensive for me. I think it will hold up really well but plastidip only cost me 20-30 bucks and i can touch it up. Just my 2c.

In terms of trail damage, wrap is worse than paint. I can think of quite a few better ways to spend a few grand.

me too

I've been looking into this myself. From what I'm gathering, unless you tear it, it should be good for about 6ish years? I'm looking to wrap my hood and roof. So, I cant wait to hear from folks on this.

Dang. The crazy thing is, if I go through some trails there is a chance I can tear it. Ughhhh

Thanks for that. I was wondering how will hold up in trails. So a no go then :(
I've never wrapped a rig, but I've worked with a lot of vinyl. I'd have to say the opposite of that. This type vinyl is very resilient and I think it will hold up quite well. By "tear" I meant more along the lines of a substantial hit.

Unless you're a Realtor and/or the owner of an adult video and toy superstore, don't do it.

I really want to do it! I want a very crazy color. only problem... its freakin expensive. I'm thoroughly convinced that I can do it myself, but this kind of thing takes more time than I have.

I just had the hood, front, and roof rack wrapped in matte black about a week ago by a local shop. Couldn't tell ya what the price is since I got it done for free (buddy knows the owner), I am sure it wouldn't be cheap, most likely $500ish or more......... I think the cost to do a whole vehicle wouldnt be cheaper than $2k + and that all depends on the type of wrap (color, etc....), Im sure it can get much pricier than that....

It's 2-3K to wrap the whole vehicle. If you want graphics it goes up from there. I think the Oakley 4runner was around $4K to wrap. Google it. Maybe I will just get the hood, roof, and front done in the future. Or won't do it until the truck needs repainted, really have not decided. But. The vinyl is way cheaper than a repaint.

If I were to wrap it would be something custom like this just to shit on everyones parade.

Then again I am not sure I have the balls to do it.. or want to piss away money that is well spent somewhere else.

I have a full wrap and I love it.

Haven't done a lot of hard core off-roading other than some off the beaten path service roads while camping. They hold up very well and so far I have not had any issues other than a small rock chipping a small piece off of a bumper.

The guys gave me an extra piece of the wrap to do small touch ups before having large enough scratches to replace a panel.

The wrap protected the paint very well. Not even a mark. After touching it back up, unless you look closely, you can't even see the patch.

Looks awesome. Did you wrap the end caps or end up finding some?
