Vn V8 Into 89 4runner

HI all

I was thinking of Putting My VN 5 Litre V8 into my 89 4runner as the engine in it has died, has anyone done this before and what would be needed to do to make sure it will pass rego, i can do most of the work myself but what cost would i be looking at to do this

What's a VN V8? As for rego, I'm assuming that's a term for emissions testing? The rule of thumb for swaps where emissions is concerned is making it legal for the year of the vehicle. In other words, whatever you put in it must have all the systems required for 1989, and must meet the standards of THAT year, not 2012.

Down under somewhere, that's Aussie v8 commodore stuff. Definitely not familiar with older Aussie v8s, the newer ones are based off the American platforms. Anything can be done with the proper tools and knowledge. Good luck.

I think the VNs were in Holdens? Is that right? We dont have any of those over here...
